Renewing of Your Mind
Renewing of Your Mind

Acrylic on Canvas 36" x 48"    Hosea 6:3, Rom. 12:1, 2
I wanted to contrast the external or outward gaze with the inward hidden transformation. The outward gaze of this person is prodding and thoughtful. Many say they want an authentic experience of the Holy Spirit with no pretense. It has to be real! Maybe it seems sometimes that too many settle for a momentary spiritual feeling with no real lasting transformation.

As I painted, the music initially focused on spring rain and light. The painting began with soft flowing blues and greens. The spring rain motif develops with the forest coming alive and anthropomorphically expresses a change. What may be seen to be a transformation of the mind emerges as a tangle of forest interfacing with and echoing the alter ego in dance. Herein is found healing of mind and the identity. Even without physically dancing, our spirit may soar inwardly as we watch someone moving freely in the Spirit. This is that moment of inward release, a genuine inward invitation to the Divine.
