The Lion of the Tribe of Judah
The Lion of the Tribe of Judah

Acrylic 18” x 24”     Revelation 5:1-5

In the prophetic end times drama of the book of Revelation there appears a powerful image of Jesus Christ as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah. Jesus is also portrayed as  the  meek lamb of sacrifice. In this physical world Jesus gave up his life that we would know God’s love. This same passage says that only this Lamb of God is worthy to open and set in motion all the events of the end times drama contained in the scroll. But in the spiritual realm Jesus moves onto the battlefield as the lion, the aggressor, the king declaring victory on the spiritual battlefield. As this powerful imagery would indicate, Jesus is moving right now with the confidence and prowess of a Lion reclaiming territory and renewing Christians with just a word from his mouth, a roar of victory.

In the painting the “Lion of the Tribe of Judah” is roaring over Toronto reclaiming His territory and the harvest fields. When He sends out the workers it will be a great revival, the bringing in of the lost. The C.N. Tower in the foreground indicates just one of the ways mass media and telecommunications are bringing people of the world face to face. God is moving through these channels. How timely is God’s plan for reaching a lost world!
