3 Kings
Acrylic 14”x18” - Mat.2:1-12
The three kings who came to visit the newborn Jesus have always remained a mystery. Where they actually came from is not known, but it is known that someone came to pay homage to Jesus having had no firsthand knowledge of Jewish prophecy. Here they stand silhouetted in mystery with more of the commonness of desert people than kings. They pause to get their bearings. They have come so far. The sky seems to reflect a sense of their own wise discernment that the object of their quest is near. Their subsequent gifts and homage paid to Jesus were a fair indication of their wisdom and means. Many will recognize the spiritual signs of God’s coming even today and they, along with their Godly tributes, will be woven into the drama of salvation.
