Eagle's Release
Eagle's Release

Acrylic 24" x 36"    Revelation 12:13-17

This painting was done in response to a friend who has had a vision of what is to come in the near future. Some of those words describe a release of wealth for God's purpose in the midst of great chaos in the world. This painting draws on the passage in Revelation 12 where the "woman" is protected through the end time struggle between Satan and God's angels. That protection and care is portrayed as the wings of a great eagle.

The eagle in the painting is toppling the buildings at the crack of dawn. It's the dawn of a new day, the release of wealth for God's people, the poor, the marginalized and the orphans. The buildings represent four great economic empires. New York, Tokyo, London, and Brussels. The buildings blend with what looks like stacks of gold coins. The toppling and chaos bring relief to those without.

The people in the foreground are dancing and singing for joy. Their joy comes from recognizing the time of God's coming to them, that regardless of chaos, they will be cared for. The omniscience of God is symbolized by the keen sight of the eagle. In the sky's background looms the overseeing presence of the Spirit of God in the form of an eagle.
